Ella has two main monsoon influences. The best weather is typically from December to March (dry in the hills) and July–August. April–June and October–November can see more rain but still plenty of clear windows for hiking.
Mornings are often clearer than afternoons. Pack layers—it can be cool at dawn on the peaks and warm by midday. Always carry rain gear and sun protection.
